Trapn Ratchet EP by Muzic King – @iAmMuzicKing

TRAPN-RATCHET- MUZIC KING.jpg

West coast rap artist Muzic King has released his highly anticipated Trapn Ratchet EP. The projects is one hundred percent Muzic King. There are no features on this five track EP. Muzic King created his own unique trap art for the album and produced all the beats. In a sense, we really understand the Trap vibe, because it was created from nothing.

Sonically the tracks vary on the project between west-coast, ratchet, party music  and trap music, thus the title Trapn Ratchet. The music is more so high energy, uptempo rap with punch-line lyrics that tell stories and paint a vivid illustration of what Trapn Ratchet is.

(Video) CAMO – “Pretty Little Woman”

hqdefault

Says CAMO about his latest video…

Pretty little woman is merely a work of art presented by the mind of the unique artist (Camo) in order to capture the minds of his peers and to let those who enjoy his sound and follow his music, enter the world of “Camo” for the moment. Within the lyrics, I presented the pretty woman as something I want, not have. Therefore, my message in the song and visual is the “lust I have for her and the sense that I need this pretty little woman to complete me.

While you’re here, check out his latest single “Camo Hood”, available now on iTunes.

(Music) Dima Kash – “The Last Prophet”

The-Last-Prophet-Cover.png

Minnesota emcee Dima Kash is staking his claim as “The Last Prophet” left in the game. In doing so, he’s taking some of the best beats the industry has to offer and made them his own. He isn’t in this alone though. Here he links with the likes of Baby Shel, Reeves Junya, Dom Milli, Naday, Moonshie Sax, 3B’s, Mo Da Kid, Dre Highway and Monaye Love, who all add their own flair to the tracks. Originally from Russia (USSR), Dima brings a style unique to 2017. His roots run deep, bringing an old school feel with a modern day style. Keep an eye on Kash as he’s about to have a big rest of the year moving forward!

(Video) Lighta Soundboy -“Mama Africa (Soundsystem)”

Picture_1

Says Lighta Soundboy on the release…

“Since we was on a tight budget with the EP, it just appeared logically to do it in Sudan during family visit. I’d be happy to implement a variety of other African cultures too though, as the song is basically to cheer and empower all Africans, the diaspora, and beyond. But this is what we got so far. And I don’t think that Sudan is generally over-represented out there in this context, especially considering the fact that it has been a crossroads of people since way back. That alone makes the video a statement of multiculturality. So we are glad to release these vibes, together with some visuals which not just entertain a little but also have a bit power to educate, after all. But to be honest though, for me its all about the song. In the end, I’m a musician, not an actor or director.”

Besides the pan-african theme of the chorus, the song also taps into other topics such as spiritual diversity, social injustice, media hype, etc. According to the artist, the references to Mama Africa Soundsystem in the title and in parts of the song verses are about respect on a more local level:

“Mama Africa Soundsytem is a ‘veteran sound,’ founded by my friends from the Gambia. We collaborated, in a climate of tough competition over here in the local Reggae scene of Hamburg, Germany, where we based at. That’s why I thought, I gotta give a little shout out.”

Danny Baxley – Crossed A Line

Danny Baxley mixes spoken poetry with dreamy pop on the beautiful “Crossed A Line”. Blurred grooves glide by with such grace over the course of the piece. Rhythms feel addictive in nature as they anchor the song’s more surreal aspects. Almost psychedelic at times the song seems to reflect upon modernity, on relationships, and the social norms that inform a person’s life. Lyrics rest at the very heart and center of the track, with the distorted vocals adding an important almost shoegaze element into the mix. By offering distant sounding vocals, Danny Baxley adds to the otherworldliness that informs the piece.

Everything starts immediately. Graceful guitar work adorns the track as the song unfurls with such style. Neatly tying together pop, alternative rock, with elements of dance thrown into the mix the song has a kaleidoscopic, all-encompassing sound to it. Volume is an absolute must for this is a song that should be felt as much as heard. Slowly but surely the song’s gradual buildup becomes ever larger, with the layers of sound swirling around in such a colorful display. Texturally rich, the way that Danny Baxley lets the melody neatly collide with this lyricism creates a song that positively teems with life. Towards the latter half of the song the piece’s mantra grows and grow until it becomes all consuming.

With “Crossed A Line” Danny Baxley creates an infectious, welcoming sound one whose ornate architecture draws the listener into a whole other world.

vs1-e1493091040697

New Zealand emcee iLL Jibb links with producer Zaih and explains just exactly how he got the name ill. Although it’s pretty evident by his work just exactly why they refer to him as such. This one goes from the jump with a haunting vibe and low vocals meant to bump at any level. Also do yourself a favor and check out his latest release “Coupe”, produced by GNealz.
